Biography
After graduating from the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the Rostov Pedagogical Institute (1949), he also conducted courses in pedagogy, methods of teaching physics from 1958 to 1969, Vice Rector of the Rostov Pedagogical Institute.
In 1975–77, Rector of the Institute of Pedagogical Studies of teachers of pedagogical disciplines at the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences
Full member of the USSR APN (1974). Since 1976, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Theory and History of Pedagogy of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, since 1979 Vice-President of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.
He was buried at the Kuntsevo cemetery .
Scientific Activities
He developed a theory of learning optimization as a scientifically based choice and implementation of a variant of the learning process, which was considered from the point of view of the success of problem solving and development, education and upbringing of students. I interpreted optimization as one of the aspects of the general theory of the scientific organization of pedagogical work. He proposed a system of specific recommendations on the choice of effective forms and methods of preventing academic failure and repetition, based on a comprehensive study of the causes of failures of schoolchildren.
