Biography
Eliza Mainardi was born on July 27, 1930 in Rome, Italy. She graduated from the drama school of Pietro Sharoff in Rome. She made her debut in the film “Daughter is forced” ( Italian: La Figlia del Forzato La Figlia del Forzato, 1953, dir. Gaetano Amata). Maynardi's debut on the stage took place in 1956 directed by Ottavio Spadaro “Corruption in the courthouse”, for this role the actress immediately received critical acclaim [3] .
The striking expressive appearance of Eliza Maynardi, her skill in reincarnation, her sharp character attracted attention to actress Federico Fellini . She became one of the favorites of the outstanding Italian director, starring in his films Satyricon (1969), Rome (1972), Casanova Federico Fellini (1977), And the ship floats ... (1983).
Maynardi also successfully performed supporting roles in comedies and dramas of famous Italian directors Mario Monicelli , Dino Risi , Pupi Avati , Alberto Sordi , Nanni Loya, having starred in almost 80 films during her acting career.
Since 1961, Maynardi has actively starred in television.
Eliza Maynardi died on May 8, 2016 in Rome at the age of 85.
