The museum is located at No. 37 on Avinguda Carlemany d'Escaldes ( Escaldes-Engordany community), on the ground floor of the five-story , one of the oldest hotels and spas in Andorra. The building, built in 1933 as a hotel, is an example of the granite architecture of Andorra and has the status of a building with historical and cultural significance.
The museum, which occupies an area of 500 m², half of which has been put on display, functions as a small art gallery, where works from the private collection of Baron Thyssen-Bornemisza (1921-2002) and his last wife Carmen Thyssen are exhibited during temporary exhibitions. The first exhibition of the museum, exhibited from March 16, 2017 to January 14, 2018, was Escenaris. De Monet a Estes. De Trouville a Nueva York ("Scenarios: from Monet to Estes , from Trouville to New York "), consisting of 26 paintings.
