Bruno Kahl ( German: Bruno Kahl ; born July 12, 1962 , Essen , Germany ) is a German statesman acting president of the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany (since July 1, 2016 ).

Biography
Born as the eldest of two children, physicist Bernhard Kähl and librarian Ute Kahl, nee Schönitz.
After graduating from high school in 1981 and military service from 1981 to 1983, he studied law from 1983 to 1988 at the universities of Bonn and Lausanne [1] . While studying, he graduated from journalism education at the Episcopal Institute to promote journalistic youth in Munich. From 1991 to 1994, he completed an internship in Bonn, Speyer and Sydney. In 1994, he passed the Second State Expertise at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne.
After working in the Confederation of German Employer Associations, he served as a consultant to the Federal Chancellery from 1995 to 1996. From 1996 to 2005, he was sent to the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, where he worked as chairman of the group Wolfgang Schäuble in various positions. Since then, he is considered a close confidant of Schäuble.
In 2005, Merkel headed the ministerial office in the first government and was the speaker of the Federal Minister Schäuble in the Ministry of the Interior. From 2006 to 2009, he headed the administration of this ministry. In 2010, he moved for Schäuble to the Ministry of Finance , and also headed the administration of this ministry. Since 2011, he was the director of the 8th department (privatization, investment and federal real estate) of the ministry.
April 27, 2016 was appointed by the federal government the acting president of the Federal Intelligence Service.
