Vekil Hajaga oglu Abbasov ( azerb. Vəkil Hacıağa oğlu Abbasov ; born 1939 ) is a Soviet Azerbaijani oilman. The first full holder of the Order of Labor Glory in the history of the USSR.

Biography
Born in 1939.
Since 1957 - accountant, collective farm leader. Since 1963, he was an assistant driller for oil and gas wells, from 1977-1978 he was a foreman, and from 1978 he was a driller at the Sangachal offshore drilling department of the Kaspurneftegazprom association. In 1977, the team, for the first time in three years, was the first to manage the plan for drilling 100%, the IX five-year plan was completed ahead of schedule in 3 years, and in 1963-1985, Abbasov drilled at least 30 wells with his team. The team in which Vekil Abbasov worked, thanks to the rational use of equipment, working time, the widespread introduction of advanced equipment and technology, improving the organization of drilling operations, the economical use of material and fuel and energy resources, successfully completed production tasks.
Mentor of young workers, specialty assistant driller trained 26 people. He trained electricians to work with a winch, workers - to replace the assistant driller.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 2, 1974 for early fulfillment of the tasks of the ninth five-year plan and socialist obligations for drilling oil wells in the Caspian Sea, Abbasov Vekil Hajaga oglu was awarded the Order of Labor Glory of the III degree.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 1, 1978 he was awarded the Order of Labor Glory of the II degree.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 7, 1983 for selfless high-performance labor, great successes achieved in the All-Union socialist competition in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the USSR, long-term impeccable work in one farm, Abbasov Vekil Gadzhaga oglu was awarded the Order of Labor Glory I degree ) The first full holder of the Order of Labor Glory in the history of the USSR.
He actively participated in the public life of Azerbaijan. Member of the CPSU since 1962 . He worked as a party group in the team. The delegate of the XXVII Congress of the CPSU. Member of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan SSR of the 11th convocation.
He lived in Baku.
