Ismet Özel (born September 19, 1944) is a Turkish poet , writer and journalist .

Biography
Born on September 19, 1944 in the city of Kayseri in the family of police officer Ahmet-bey and his wife, the housewife Syddyki-khanim, was the youngest of six children. In Osel's childhood, the family often moved, finally settling in Ankara. There Osel graduated from Ankara University . While studying at the university, he began to write poetry. Carried away by socialist ideas, he became an activist of the Workers' Party , served as secretary of the party’s regional branch in Chamlyder . Also, together with friends, published a number of literary and political magazines [2] .
After graduating from Ankara University and serving in the army, he graduated from the University of Hadgettepe , where he studied French. In the second half of the 60s, he moved away from the ideas of socialism towards Islam. Since the early 1970s, it has been published in the literary magazine Diriliş, published by the Islamist Sezai Karakoch [2] .
In 1977-2003 he wrote poems and articles for the Islamic editions Yeni Devir , Milli Gazete and Yeni Şafak [2] .
Ozel’s works are anti-modernist , anti-conformist and anti-Western in nature, they are devoted to such topics as the existence of people on Earth, the life of Muslims in the modern world, the struggle against humans with the destructive manifestations of modern civilization [2] .
Personal life
In 1976 he married Nejle Aslandogda, they have four children: two sons and two daughters [2] .
