Swatopluk Beneš ( Czech Svatopluk Beneš ; February 24, 1918 , Roudnice nad Labem - April 27, 2007 , Prague ) is a Czech theater, film and television actor. Honored Artist of the Czech Republic (1989).

Biography
Born in the family of a railwayman. After high school, he entered the Prague Conservatory , but his father, learning about this, refused to pay for his education. S. Benesh earned working as an extra in the theater. In 1937 he graduated from the conservatory, where he studied acting at the drama department.
In 1934, at the age of 16, he made his film debut.
At the age of 19 he got into the Prague Theater in Vinohrady (1935–1950), but he worked for most of his life in the capital's Prague Municipal Theater (1950–1985).
He played on stage in the plays of Shakespeare , Moliere , Stendhal , Maupassant , Balzac , B. Shaw , F. Durrenmatt , M. Bulgakov , K. Chapek and others.
In 1934-2003, he starred in 90 films and television shows.
At the end of his life, he suffered from senile dementia , because of which he was forced to leave the profession.
He was buried at the Olshansky cemetery .
