Burghardt, Tobias

He graduated from high school in La Paz (Bolivia), then the Free University of Berlin . He worked as a teacher of German in Buenos Aires ( Argentina ) and Montevideo ( Uruguay ). Since 1987 in Stuttgart . In 1988-1991. was the editor of the literary magazine "Delta" (10 issues). Since 1992, he began to work with the newspapers Stuttgarter Zeitung ( Germany ) and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung ( Switzerland ). Since 1989 - editor of the publishing house Delta, which specializes in publishing translations of foreign poets ^[1] . In 2000, he acted as coordinator of Anna Blum's multilingual poetic project at the World Expo 2000 exhibition in Hannover ^[2] . Since 2012, he has been the coordinator of the Babylon International Festival of Culture and Art ( Iraq ) ^[3] . Member of the editorial board of the Latin American poetic journal PROMETEO ( Medellin , Colombia ) ^[4] .

Author of seven collections of poems translated into Arabic, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Serbian, Bengali and Swedish, as well as several works on Latin American literature. Translated and published (including jointly with his wife Juana Burghardt) about 30 collections of poetry, mostly Latin American, Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese authors ( Roberto Huarros , Antonio Porchia , Juan Gelman , Alejandra Pizarnik , Jean Tardieu , Juan Ramón Jiménez , Olga Orozco , Ruben Dario , Eugenio de Andrade , Ana Paula Tavares, Haroldo de Campos, Mikel Marti-i-Paul, Susanna Rafarth ^[5] .
