Ami Kondo ( Jap. 近藤 亜 美 ; born , ) is a Japanese judoka , bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games , world champion, silver medalist of the 2018 Asian Games.

Biography
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Ami Kondo was seeded under the 3rd number, so she started right away from the second round . During the competition, the Japanese judoka won two early victories and reached the semifinals. There Kondo was to meet with Argentine judoka Paula Pareto . The duel continued for 4 minutes, all set according to the rules. The only effective action for the match was the throw made by Pareto, so she reached the final. Kondo in a stubborn battle for the bronze medal was able to defeat the leader of the world ranking from Mongolia, Munkhbatyn Uranzetsag .
