Urmas Wijlma graduated from the Saue Grammar School with a silver medal in 1991 . He received religious education at the EELC Theological Institute in Tallinn (graduated from the institute in 1998 ).
On May 2, 1993, he was ordained a deacon (from Bishop Einar Soone). He served in 1993 as a deacon in the parish of Cale and in the years 1993-1998 in the parish of Pärnu-Jaagupi . On September 15, 1998 (after graduation) he was ordained a pastor (in the Dome Cathedral of Tallinn from Archbishop Jaan Kiivit ) and became rector of the parish in Pärnu-Jaagupi (where he served as pastor in 1998-2004); he looked after both in 1999-2004 parishes in Mihkli, in 2001-2004 Tystamaa and in 2003-2004 in Vigala . In 2003-2005, he was the vice provost of Pärnu County.
Elected by the archbishop in November 2014 [1] .
