As a player, he played for the Italian clubs and never played in Serie A. However, as a coach, he played 490 matches in Italian Serie A (148 wins, 197 draws and 145 losses), became the champion of Italy and won the Italian Cup three times.

Play career
In adult football, he made his debut in 1954 with performances for the Fidenza club team, in which he spent one season in the fourth-tier Italian division.
His game for this team attracted the attention of representatives of the coaching staff of Brescia , serving in Serie B. He joined the team in the summer of 1955 and played for the club from Brescia for the next five seasons of his playing career.
Subsequently, from 1960 to 1966, he played in Serie B as a member of Monza (with a short break in performances for Pro Patria in the 1962/63 season).
In 1966 he moved to the club " Lecce ", for which he played 2 seasons in Serie C. He completed his professional career as a football player with performances for the team "Lecce" in 1968.
Career Coach
He began his coaching career immediately after the end of his playing career, in 1968, leading the coaching staff of the Lecce club, where he worked for three years.
Later he led a number of Italian clubs, in particular Internazionale , which in the 1979/80 season of Bercellini led to the champion title, and also won the Italian Cup twice (in 1978 and 1982). In addition, he worked with Sampdoria , which in 1985 led to the first trophy in the history of the club - the Italian Cup [3] , thanks to which the team made its debut in European competition [4] . He also worked abroad in Libya, where he coached the local national team , as well as the capital clubs Al-Agli and Al-Ittihad , winning the last national championship with the latter [5] .
The last place of coaching was the Sestre Levante Club of Serie D, whose team Eugenio Bersellini led as head coach until 2007.
