History
One of the first mentions of the village of Frolovo refers to the Patrol books of Kozelsk county for 1638. This year, from the village of Votkino and the village of Frolovo, the militia was recruited to defend the Ktsynsk area. The village provided "podimovy people" to protect the Kozelsk intersection [2] .
In the “List of Populated Places of the Kaluga Province” for 1859, it is listed as the owner's village of Zhizdrinsky district on the Ratts creek in 82 yards [3] .
In the XIX century Frolovo was part of the Lovtov parish. There were about 350 yards in the village, there was its own tar, local people were engaged in honey, sowed flax and hemp to make cloth and ropes. Not far from the village on the farm Frolovsky there was a steam mill. The village also had a local school, which was funded by county zemstvos. In 1915, 80 boys and 16 girls studied there.
A wooden two-patron church with a bell tower was built in 1912 by parishioners with the help of landowners Ivan Sergeyevich Abramov and Lydia Nikolayevna Egorova, and therefore Frolovo received the status of a village. By 1941, the church was closed and converted into a club, which burned down in 1943 [4] .
In Soviet times, the collective farm “The Right Way”, a farm, a library, a post office and a medical center were formed in the village.
