Biography
The older brother of the artist Cesar Alvares Dumont .
He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid , and then at the Spanish Academy in Rome . Influenced by the works of artists Alma Tadema and Vicente Palmaroli , he wrote mainly paintings of the historical genre.
In 1898, together with his brother Cesar went to North Africa ; visited Morocco and Algeria . Then he settled in Paris , later returned to his homeland in Madrid .
Participant of many exhibitions. In 1910 he was invited to take part in an exhibition of Spanish art on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Buenos Aires .
In 1887 he was awarded the bronze medal, and in 1892 - the silver medal of the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid.
