Karl Ziegler ( German: Karl Ziegler ) - ( April 12, 1812 , San Martino in Passiria - May 20, 1877 , Vienna ) - German poet. His poems, distinguished by simplicity and grace, are published in the collections of "Gedichte" (1843, under the pseudonym Carlopago), "Himmel und Erde" (1856), "Oden" (1866), "Vom Kothurn der Lyrik" (1869).
Biography
In early childhood, lost his father. Mother married again and in 1818 moved to Vienna with her children. Due to the work of her stepfather, the family spent some time in Medling , but since 1823 she has been living in the capital again.
Ziegler studied at home. In 1827 he entered the University of Vienna , where he studied philosophy. He did not graduate, in 1835 he began working at a law firm. After working continuously for 22 years, he resigned of his own free will.
In 1845 he married, a daughter was born in marriage, but Ziegler's first wife died in 1847. He married Rosa Strnad from Salzburg and went to this city. In March 1867, Ziegler's daughter married Salzburg bookseller Ludwig Taube. In the same year, the Austrian government granted Ziegler a salary of 300 guilders for his contribution to art.
Since 1830, Ziegler traveled a lot: visited his home in Upper Austria , Munich , Stuttgart , Nuremberg , Regensburg . In 1864, at the invitation of a friend, he visited Trieste , from where he went to Venice .
He died in Vienna on May 20, 1877.
