Biography
Born on April 13, 1988 in London , he lived in Islington and Chelmsford , moved to Peterborough at the age of seventeen. In his youth he was fond of many sports, played basketball , cricket , and was engaged in athletics . At the age of fifteen, he began to master taekwondo , but reached only the yellow belt and quickly dropped it. He practiced Brazilian jiu-jitsu , having received a purple belt in this discipline. At some point, with the filing of a fighter Jack Mason met with mixed martial arts and began to go to train in the hall Tsunami Shooters MMA [1] .
Start of a professional career
He made his debut in mixed martial arts at the professional level in September 2011, beating his rival by technical knockout in the second round. He fought in various small English promotions, such as the Cage Fighters Championship, UCMMA, BAMMA and the Ultimate Warrior Challenge - from all the matches he invariably came out the winner.
The Ultimate Fighter
With five wins and no losses in his record, in 2013 Barnatt was among the participants of the seventeenth season of the popular fighting reality show The Ultimate Fighter . In the qualifying match, by a unanimous decision, he defeated Nicholas Koring, and under the first general number he was selected to the team of coach Cheil Sonnen [2] .
At the preliminary stage, the show knocked out the first opponent in the tournament grid, but at the quarter-finals stage he met with New Zealander Dylan Andrews and lost to him by technical knockout in the third round.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Following the results of TUF, Barnatt moved to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the largest fighting organization of the world, and successfully debuted here, taking over his colleague on the reality show Collin Hart. Later he went to Octagon against Andrew Craig and with the help of a suffocating reception from the back in the second round made him give up, earning a bonus for the best reception of the evening [3] [4] .
In 2014, thanks to his percussion technique, he beat Swedish grappler Mats Nilsson ahead of schedule, but then there were three defeats in a row - Barnatt conceded on points to Sean Strickland , Roger Narvaez and Mark Muñoz . In this series of failures, his collaboration with the organization came to an end [5] [6] .
Other organizations
After leaving the UFC, Luke Barnatt continued to speak in less prestigious organizations. So, in 2015, he won the title of champion of the Italian middleweight champion Venator FC, who subsequently successfully defended.
