Menag military airfield (or Minneh [1] , Menah [2] ) - the Syrian Air Force airfield. Located 6 km south of the city of Aazaz . [3] At the airfield was the 4th squadron. [4] MBB 223 Flamingo training aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters were based at the airport.

Menag airfield | |
During the Syrian Civil War, the airfield was attacked by opposition and Islamists. Since August 2012, it was under siege by the opposition forces, until on August 6, 2013 it passed into their hands. Then the airbase was captured by IS militants and held it until February 2016, when the airfield was captured by the Democratic forces of Syria.
