Jerez Circuit ( Spanish: Circuito Permanente de Jerez ) is a race track located in Jerez de la Frontera , Spain . Took five Spanish Grand Prix and two European Grand Prix from 1986 to 1997 .

Opened December 8, 1985 . Since 1987 it has been used for the stages of the World Championship in the MotoGP class, in 1986 - 1997 it was used for the stages of Formula 1 - the Spanish Grand Prix and the European Grand Prix . To date, it is used by Formula 1 teams as a test track.
In 2013, the last turn of the track was named after Jorge Lorenzo [1] , and on May 3, 2018, the circuit was named after Angel Nieto , who died in 2017 . At the entrance to the circuit there is also a bust of the Spanish motorcycle racer [2] .
