Feridun Malkom Khan came from a famous Iranian family of Armenian descent. His father was Mirza Malkom Khan , an Iranian educator, reformer, founder of Iranian drama, a publicist and diplomat [2] .
Feridun Malkom Khan took part in the 1900 Summer Olympics , he competed in a sword fencing tournament. In the first round of the competition, he took second place in his group, losing only to the Frenchman Richard Wallos . In the quarterfinal, the Persian athlete could not leave the group, he took 4-6th place with the Frenchman Henri-Georges Berger and the Italian Giuseppe Jurato [3] .
Feridun Malkom Khan became the first Iranian athlete to take part in the Olympic Games [4] , but the IOC does not recognize him as an Iranian athlete, since according to the IOC, the first Iranian athletes did not take part in the Olympic Games for the first time until 1948 , at the Sydney Olympics [5] .
He is also known as the author of a book on the history of Iran , entitled “Selected History” [2] .
