Biography

After the death of Karim Khan Zenda , a civil war broke out between the two camps. Some supported Abol Fath, while others supported his younger brother, Mohammad Ali Khan Zenda . Both were still children and were pawns in a game of power. Karim Khan’s brother Zaki Khan attempted to proclaim his own son, Mohammad Ali Khan, as the legal shah of the Zenda dynasty, but shortly afterwards, he also made Abol Fatah the general ruler of Iran. Both Muhammad Ali and Abol-Fath only held nominal power during their reign, since their uncle was an effective master of the state.

Another brother of Karim Khan, Sadek Khan Zend, left Shiraz to gather an army in Kerman , supposedly in support of Abol-Fath Khan. And Khan at that time even ended up in prison.

Immediately after the death of Karim Khan, the prince of the Kajar tribe Aga Mohammed Shah Kajar came up with an army and occupied the city of Mazenderan . After all, kajari, as before, dominated the north of the country. Subsequently, he took command of his tribe in Astarabad and declared his independence from Shah Zenda.

To combat this movement, the Shah sent the Iranian army under the command of his nephew Ali Murad Shah against the kajar rulers. Soon, Ali-Moreda Khan rebelled against him and captured the city of Isfahan . However, the Shah collected high taxes from the landlords and severely cracked down on the unwanted. This led his own army to rebel and kill Zaki Khan on June 6, 1779, when he marched on Isfahan.

Meanwhile, another uncle of Abol Fatah, Sadek Khan returned to Shiraz with the army. After receiving the news of the death of Zaki Khan, on June 19, 1779, he proclaimed Abol Fatah the only official ruler of Iran. Sadek held real power, while Abol-Fath, by and large, lived in pleasure and did not take any part in the management of the empire.

Two months after the proclamation of August 22, 1779, Abol Fatah ruler, Sadek Khan was overthrown. Abol Fath was blinded by order of Sadek Khan. Obviously, this happened two years later, when Shiraz collapsed under the invasion of Ali-Mored Khan. He died in 1787 at the age of 32.
