Khostovrul (in some sources, Tavrul , Khristovrul ) - the character of "The Tale of the Ruin of Ryazan Batu " - a literary work known by lists, the oldest of which were not earlier than the second half of the 16th century. The annals are not mentioned. The reality of human existence is in doubt. He is an antagonist in the works of Evpatiya Kolovrat .

Biography
Khostovrul - Shurich (son of Shurin (brother of his wife)) ruler of the Golden Horde Khan Batu (c. 1209 - 1255/1256). In January 1238, during a battle with a detachment of Evpatiy Kolovrat , Khan Batu boasted that he would bring Evpatia alive. Hostovrul led the attack on the Evpatiy Kolovrat detachment and entered into a combat with Evpaty. Yevpatiy cut Hostovrul in two to the saddle [1] . The battle ended with the victory of the forces of the Golden Horde after the use of vices (throwing machines) .
The name Khostovrul is neither Mongol nor Turkic. As far as we know, so far none of the historians have tried to explain its origin [2] . The name Tavrul was preserved in epics in the form of the nickname Bahmet Tavruevich [3] [4] , Vozvyag Tavrolievich [5] .
