Chronology of Major Events

  • January 22: The Turkish Drafts World Championship for Men is over . Nezar Nassih from Iraq interrupted the long-standing championship of Faik Yildiz (Turkey).
  • February 26: European Championships in international drafts in the blitz format among men and women ended. The victory was won by the Russians Alexander Shvartsman and Natalya Shestakova .
  • April 27: Asian championships in international drafts among men and women , in Russian drafts and in Turkish drafts ended. The champion of Asia in men was the representative of China Li Zhenyu (international drafts), in women Zhao Hanqing won.   • July 30 - the victory of Sergey Belosheev (Russia) ended the 3rd stage of the World Cup in drafts-64 “White Nights-2017” ( Russia ).
  • August 18 - Mirat Zhekeyev (Kazakhstan) won the 4th stage of the World Drafts-64 Cup “Information Technology Cup” ( Russia ).
  • August 3 - the victory of Lubabalo Kondlo ( South Africa ) ended the qualifying tournament for the World Championship in checkers according to GAYP.
  • August 3 - Nadezhda Chizhevskaya ( Ukraine ) became the world champion in women checkers according to GAYP .
  • September 2 in Kranevo , Bulgaria ended the team world championship in drafts-64 . The men and women won the team of Belarus. In the second and third place in men, the teams Russia-1 and Russia-2. Women ranked second in Moldova, in third place in Uzbekistan, Russian national teams took 4-7 places.
