In 1928 he entered the chemical department of Leningrad State University . Together with the entire course, he was transferred to the special faculty of the Technological Institute , which he graduated in 1932. He received a direction for scientific work at the Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, which was then located in Leningrad.
Candidate of Technical Sciences (1939), student A.V. Zagulina . After the defense, he moved to the laboratory of A.S. Sokolik .
With the beginning of World War II , he was evacuated to Kazan together with the Institute. In 1943, the Institute was transferred to Moscow. Kogarko led the engine laboratory. Since 1947, Ya. B. Zeldovich , deputy head of the combustion department. Since 1953, he headed the gas combustion laboratory. He was a member of the Institute.
He taught at the Moscow Mechanical Institute ( MEPhI ), from 1960 to 1978, head of the department of chemical physics [1]
Scientific activity
Fundamental results in the field of physics of gas combustion [2] . With his participation, problems of applied nature were solved (the study of processes in internal combustion engines, etc.). A number of machines, devices and processes have been introduced into the industry, in particular powerful presses. He was involved as an expert in investigating the causes of catastrophic explosions, including in the gas field in Orenburg in 1974.
