Biography
Vladimir Petrovich Tikhonov was born on October 24, 1935 in Chisinau. In 1954 he graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School (teacher A.I. Pushkin ). After serving in the army in 1957-1960 he was a soloist in the ballet of the Moldavian Opera and Ballet Theater in Chisinau.
In 1960-1979 he danced at the Bolshoi Theater . His art was distinguished by the beauty and plasticity of lines, ease, academic performance.
In 1979, he worked as a teacher-tutor of the Belgrade National Theater . In the 1980s, he worked as artistic director of the Moscow ensemble "Ballet on Ice".
He died on January 31, 2000, was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery .

- People's Artist of the Moldavian SSR (1967).
