The East Bantoid anthropological type is one of the variants of the small Negro race . Distributed east of the Congo basin among the eastern Bantu peoples - in the savannahs of Tanzania , Mozambique and some other countries (mainly among the Bantu peoples) [1] [2] .
Unlike neighboring groups of Central African populations, representatives of the eastern bantoid type are characterized by higher growth and weak development of tertiary hair on the face and body. These signs bring the eastern-bantoid type closer to the Sudanese (Negro-Guinean) type . Meanwhile, representatives of the eastern bantoid populations have a narrower face, lips are thinner and the nose is slightly narrower than that of Sudanese Negroids. According to these characteristics, the eastern bantoid type is closer to the Ethiopian race . In turn, from the Ethiopians the Bantu-speaking peoples of Tanzania and Mozambique are distinguished by darker skin pigmentation and the presence of strongly curly hair [1] [2] .
In view of the insufficient study of the populations of the small Negro race (and the absence of their complete descriptions), the allocation of anthropological types and races of a lower order, including the eastern bantoid type, in this race, according to S. V. Drobyshevsky , is somewhat arbitrary [3] .
