History
The race has been running since 2003. The releases of 2003 and 2004 were held among amateurs. In 2005, the race entered the UCI Asia Tour calendar under category 2.2 .
Until 2007, the main sponsor of the competition was the Philip Morris cigarette brand. In 2007, the tour was canceled due to lack of funding and the inability to attract a sponsor. The following year, the race was resumed. The main sponsor was the Internet provider Speedy , owned by the telecommunications company Telkom Indonesia . The prize fund was 100 thousand US dollars .
From 2012 to 2017, the race was not held again. In January 2018, the Tour of Indonesia was resumed. The rating of the race was raised to 2.1.
