Pavlovsky Music Station
Pavlovsk is the station of the first railway of Russia. In order to attract the public, Franz von Gerstner proposed a device at the terminal point of the station building “for the shelter and pleasure of the public”. In a memo on the benefits of building a railway from St. Petersburg to Tsarskoye Selo and Pavlovsk, he wrote:
“At the end of the road, a new Tivoli, a beautiful voxal [2] , is being arranged: in the summer and winter it will serve as a gathering place for residents of the capital; games and dances, reinforcements in the fresh air and in the luxurious dining room will attract everyone. ”
The building of the concert building with a restaurant was designed by architect A.I. Shtakenschneider . It was completed and open to the public on May 22, 1838 . Initially, the station was supposed to operate year-round, but due to low attendance in the winter from 1840 in the winter, it was closed, and only in some cases there were concerts, balls, etc.
Pavlovsky Station was the first permanent concert institution in Russia, in which symphony orchestras performed. In September 1838, gypsies performed, followed by a symphony orchestra conducted by I. Herman at the beginning of the following year, and since 1856, Johann Strauss (son) has performed for ten seasons. Outstanding musicians A.K. Glazunov , R.M. Glier , A.K. Lyadov, N.A. Malko, V.I. Suk conducted the station, and L.V. Sobinov , N.N. Figner and M performed I. Figners , I. V. Ershov , A. D. Vyaltseva , G. Venyavsky , S. S. Prokofiev and others.
After the fire of 1844 , the station was rebuilt, and then (in 1860 , 1871 , 1884 ) rebuilt and expanded. In 1875, according to the project of architect N.L. Benois , the Pavlovsk Theater was erected nearby. In 1898, the Pavlovsk station passed into the jurisdiction of the Moscow-Vindava-Rybinsk railway .
After 1918, the Pavlovsky Music Station and the theater formed a complex in which a symphony orchestra of 80 musicians performed. During the summer season he gave twenty concerts. The conductor N. A. Malko acted as the leader. Among other groups, the First Great Russian Orchestra performed by V.V. Andreev performed here, and F.I. Chaliapin sang.
The station building was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War . The railway line Tsarskoye Selo - Tyarlyovo - Pavlovsk I was indicated on the schemes until 1952 [3] .
Pavlovsk II
The purchase of the Tsarskoye Selo Railway by the Moscow-Vindava-Rybinsk Railway Society was aimed at connecting St. Petersburg with the existing network of the Company. Since it was not possible to extend the existing line, paths from Tsarskoye Selo were laid around Pavlovsky Park. The path to the station Dno came into operation in 1904 . In the same year, at the site of maximum convergence of Pavlovsk and Tsarskoye Selo , the Pavlovsk II station was designed, designed for summer residents.
The station building was designed by S. A. Brzhozovsky . The wooden building included lounges for passengers of I and II class, luggage compartment, ticket offices, telegraph, the premises of the duty officer at the station, the office of the head of the station, the conductor's room. In the tower there was a small buffet with a kitchen. A landing platform with a length of about 260 meters, partially covered by a landing stage .
The modern station was built 60 meters north of the old building in 1955 according to the project of the architect E. A. Levinson , who revived the palace and park ensembles of Pushkin and Pavlovsk. This is a one-story building with side porticoes and a hexagonal rotunda in the central part on which the spire is mounted. Earlier, until 1994, he was crowned with a star, but because of the dilapidation, it was dismantled and are not planning to return it yet [4] .
The station received the name "Pavlovsk" after 1955 , while the cottage village that arose next to Tsarskoye Selo retained the name Pavlovsk-2 .
On November 1, 2016, the Pavlovsk station station was recognized as an identified cultural heritage object [5] . The initiator of the assignment of status was the online newspaper "Kanoner" [6] .
