History
Vila Gelbes street was formed by the decision of the Riga City Council in 2017 from an unnamed branch of Bikernieku street. Named in honor of the Knight of the Order of Lachplesis , Senior Lieutenant of the Latvian Vilis Gelbe (1890-1919), who died heroically during the years of the struggle for the independence of Latvia [1] .
It was formed during the redevelopment and development of the quarter in the 1950s , but until 2017 it had no name.
