Five thousand rubles ( Belorussian. Five thousand rubles ) is the face value of the banknote used in Belarus from 1994 to 2017, as well as commemorative coins issued in 2013 and 2014 [1] .

History
The first 5,000-ruble banknote in Belarus was put into circulation on April 7, 1994. On September 16, 1998, an updated banknote of 5,000 rubles was introduced into circulation, which was legal tender on a par with 5,000 rubles of the 1992 model. Both banknotes were withdrawn from circulation on January 1, 2001 [2] [3] . On January 1, 2000, a new banknote of denomination of 5,000 rubles was introduced, corresponding to 5,000,000 rubles of the 1999 model . Retired from circulation on December 1, 2017 [4] .
Feature
5000 rubles 1992
The Trinity suburb is depicted on the obverse. Under the image in a semicircle the inscription “FIVE THOUSAND RUBLES” is placed, and in the upper right corner the digital designation of the face value is “5000”. To the left of the image in the patterned ornament is a large digital designation of the face value, and above it is the number and series of the banknote, which is also duplicated in the lower right corner. At the top left, a special patterned element is depicted. In the lower part of the banknote passes a patterned border framed by protective inscriptions in 3 lines above and below “RESPUBLIKABELARUS”, made in small print.
On the reverse side in the patterned ornament is the Pogonya coat of arms , to the left and to the right of which the digital designations of the face value are depicted. In the upper part of the banknote, a patterned border passes through the entire field, in the lower part there are 2 patterned borders, between which the inscription “Razlikovy ticket of the National Bank of Belarus” is placed. On the lower right is the year 1992. In the upper right part there is an inscription in small letters “PEDROBKA RAZLIKOVYH BILETAЎ NATSYANALNAGA BANK BELARUS_ PRASLEDUETS PA LAW” [5] .
5000 rubles 1998
The Trinity suburb is depicted on the obverse. Under the image in a semicircle the inscription “FIVE THOUSAND RUBLES” is placed, and in the upper right corner the digital designation of the face value is “5000”. To the left of the image in the patterned ornament is a large digital designation of the face value. At the top left, a special patterned element is depicted. In the lower part of the banknote there is a patterned border framed by protective inscriptions in 3 lines above and below “RESPUBLIKABELARUS” made in small print, and the number and series of the banknote are printed on top of the border.
On the reverse side in the patterned ornament there is a digital designation of the face value - "5000". In the upper part of the banknote, a patterned border passes through the entire field, in the lower part there are 2 patterned borders, between which the inscription “Razlikovy ticket of the National Bank of Belarus” is placed. On the lower right is the year 1998. In the upper right part there is an inscription in small letters “PEDROBKA OF DIFFERENT BILLETS Ў NATSYANALNAGA BANK BELARUS РА PRASLEDUETS PA LAW” [6] .
5000 rubles 2000
The front side shows the building of the Sports Palace in Minsk with the signature “МІНСК. The Palace of Sports. ” To the left and right of the image are placed graphic protection signs. An ornamental strip passes in the upper part of the banknote field, in which the inscription “BILET NATSYANALNAGA BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS” is placed, and protective microtext from the repeating abbreviation “NBRB” is attached to the bottom, a large abbreviation “NBR” is placed in the upper right part of the banknote. The denomination is indicated by the numbers on the left side of the banknote, inside the vignette in the upper right from the center image, and the words “FIVE THOUSAND RUBLES” under the image of the museum. In the lower part there is a patterned border, to which the microtext of repeating numbers “5000” is adjacent to the top, in the lower right corner of the banknote inside the vignette there is a year designation “2000”.
On the back there is a sports complex “Raubichi” with the signature “SPARTYNY COMPLEX„ RAЎBICHI “”. On the sides of this image are placed graphic protective elements. The location of the protective microtexts on this side is the same as on the front side. In the upper part, the denomination is indicated by the words “FIVE THOUSAND RUBLES”, under the central image there is a large number “5000” indicating the denomination. The series and number of the banknote are located at the top right and bottom left of the banknote field. In the upper left corner there is an inscription: “PADROBKA BІLETAЎ NATSYANALNAGA BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS PRASLUDETS PA LAW” [7] .

Commemorative coins and banknotes with a face value of five thousand rubles are also circulating. This table presents the coins of the series " Rev. Also presented here is a commemorative banknote of 5,000 rubles of the Millennium series, which are a means of payment in Belarus.
