Together for "Yes"

Together for “Yes” ( Cat. Junts pel Sí ) - a political alliance formed in Catalonia on July 20, 2015 to participate in regional parliamentary elections , as a result of which this coalition took first place and received 39.6% of the vote and 62 seats out of 135 in the local parliament. This all the same was not enough for the formation of the ruling majority, but the so-called Independentists went on to form another supra-alliance with members of the ultra-radical party “ Candidate for National Unity ”, which gave them a total of 72 seats in parliament (53.3%). The Alliance for the first time openly campaigned for the complete independence of Catalonia from royal Spain. One of the election promises was the holding of a referendum on the independence of Catalonia, which was done subsequently, including the declaration of independence on its results . The “Together for Yes” coalition platform, which lasted from July 20, 2015 to November 7, 2017, broke up into two parties voluntarily, but the unspoken alliance continues to exist de facto , since only together can the independent parties of Catalonia form the majority in the parliament (52% ), which was shown by the results of the 2017 parliamentary elections [1] .

Electoral Support

Although the alliance did not achieve a larger share of the electoral vote together than separately, its official goal (the total absolute number of votes it received decreased by 9.0% compared to the total results for the two parties in the previous elections), but thanks to the alliance, the separation position was popularized and consolidated on the question of the future of Catalonia, the extreme radical wing of independence supporters Candidatura d'Unitat Popular (their number of votes increased 2.7 times) sharply intensified and they became the main allies of the alliance in Parliament.
