Grandmaster A. I. Nimtsovich placed the game against E. Hansen from the 1928 Copenhagen tournament in his book My System in Practice. Nimtsovich noted the debut boldly and unconditionally played by Hansen (the English beginning ): "The construction of Hansen [1] deserves praise!" Hansen later made a mistake that led to an irreparable weakening of White's pawn position. In the future, he stubbornly defended himself (Nimtsovich called the white game witty), but he could no longer defend his pawn weaknesses in the endgame . [2]
