Shadi, Abdelkader

Abdelkader Shadi ( Arabic: عبد القادر شادي ; born December 12, 1986 , Setif ) is an Algerian boxer who represents the light, semi-light and first welterweight categories. He has been playing for the Algerian boxing team since 2005, two-time champion of the All-African Games, champion of the Mediterranean Games in Mersin , champion of Africa, winner and prize-winner of tournaments of international importance, participant in three summer Olympic Games.

Biography

Abdelkader Shadi was born on December 12, 1986 in Setif , Algeria .

He made his international debut in 2003, speaking at the World Cadet Championships in Bucharest.

In 2005, he became a member of the Algerian national team and attended the World Championships in Mianyang , where he was already defeated by the American Mark Davis at the preliminary stage.

The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 2007 season, when he won the African Championship in Madagascar and at the home All-African Games in Algeria .

Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing - in the category of up to 57 kg, he defeated Thai Sailom Adi here , but then lost in the quarterfinal with a score of 6:13 from Turk Yakup Kylych .

In 2011, he won first place at the African Championship in Cameroon, won a bronze medal at the World War Games in Rio de Janeiro, entered the world championship ring in Baku . Since that time, he regularly participated in match meetings of the WSB semi-professional league, where he represented the Algerian Desert Hawks team.

Being among the leaders of the Algerian national team, he successfully passed the selection for the 2012 Olympic Games in London - this time he boxed in lightweight and was stopped by Turk Fatih Keles in the opening match.

After the London Olympics, Shadi remained in the main team of Algeria's boxing team and continued to take part in major international tournaments. So, in 2013, he won the first welterweight in the Mediterranean Games in Mersin , visited the World Championship in Alma-Ata , where he lost to Uzbek Sanjarbek Rakhmonov .

Since 2014, he played at AIBA Pro Boxing Championship tournaments.

In 2015, he added to his track record a golden dignity award received at the All-African Games in Brazzaville .

He boxed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro - in the first fight he was defeated by the local Brazilian boxer Joedison Teixeira [1] .
