Anikin, Vladimir (weightlifter)

Vladimir Anikin (September 2, 1946, Vilnius - date of death is unknown ) - Soviet weightlifter, silver medalist of the European Championship, champion and medalist of the USSR championship.

Biography

In 1964 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov School. Then he began to do weightlifting. After graduating from the Suvorov School, he entered the Riga Military Aviation School and has since lived in Riga. Represented a team of the Armed Forces. Trainers - Valentin Voloshin, Nikolay Belousov, Mikhail Freifeld. He performed in the category up to 56 kg.

At the championships of the USSR he became the champion ( 1974 ), silver ( 1971 , 1973 ) and a bronze medalist ( 1970 , 1972 ).

At the European Championships in 1974, he took second place in the lightest weight category and won a silver medal.

In the late 1970s, he also represented the Lithuanian SSR. He completed his sports career in 1979.

He died in the 1980s in military service.
