Biography

Khovalyg Maadyr-ool Bartyshtaanovich was born on April 30, 1947 in the town of Kola-Kharagan Sumona Horum-Dag Dzun-Khemchiksky district of the Tuva Autonomous Region [2] . He graduated from Ak-Dovurak Mining College, Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University with a degree in Management. He worked in Ak-Dovurak as a concrete worker, excavator driver, chairman of the trade union committee, deputy general director of the Tuvaasbest mining and processing plant, chairman of the board of the Union of Writers of Tuva, head of the Department of Tourism of the Republic of Tyva, press officer of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tyva , director of the zoo.

After serving in the army, he got a job as a mechanic in the first-born of the mining industry of Tuva - at the Tuvaasbest mining and processing plant, where he grew from an assistant to a drilling foreman. Having gained a lot of experience, dexterity, a quick reaction to control the mining mechanism, it becomes a leader in production. His portrait hangs on the Honor Board of the republic's leading workers in the center of Kyzyl [3] . He is the drummer of communist labor, the drummer of the 11th five-year plan of the USSR Ministry of Building Materials Industry. After 16 years of work, in 1990 he was appointed to the post of deputy general director of the Tuvaasbest mining and processing plant. Having worked at this enterprise for 24 years, in 1993 he goes into small business, creates a tourist enterprise in Ak-Dovurak. In 1994, he was admitted to the Union of Writers of Russia . At an extraordinary congress of writers, he is elected chairman of the board of the Union of Writers of Tuva. In this position he worked from 1995 to 1997 . In 2008 - 2010 he is elected to this position a second time. Between 1995 and 1997 he was elected a member of the Great Khural (Congress) of the people of the Republic of Tuva.

In 1999, he was invited to work as head of the Department of Tourism of the State Sports Committee of the Republic. Having made numerous mountaineering ascents to the highest mountains of Tuva, in 2006 he organized the First Tuvan high-altitude expedition to Lenin Peak (7134 m.) In the Pamirs , for which he was the first to be awarded the honorary title “Snow Leopard” of the Republic of Tyva at number one [3] . In 2008, M. B. Hovalyg climbed the highest peak in Africa - Kilimanjaro (5895) in Tanzania , six months later - on the top of South America - Aconcagua (6962 m). In 2010, he climbed one of the most difficult peaks in the world - McKinley - Denali (6194 m.) In Alaska , the highest peak in North America . In winter 2011, he stood on the highest peak of Australia , the distant "Green Continent" - Kosciuszko (2228 m), and in autumn - on the highest mountain in Europe in the Caucasus - Elbrus (5642 m) from Karachay-Cherkessia . In 2012, M. B. Khovalyg with the team reached 6400 m of the highest peak in Asia in the Himalayas - Everest (8848 m.) From Tibet [3] .

Creativity

He began his literary career in 1983. The first story, “Felt rug,” was published in the leather newspaper “Hemchiktin Syldyzy” in 1983. The first book, “Call of the Snowy Peaks,” was published in 1987. [4] It was about Maadyr-ool's hobby - tourism. The book of production prose “Birch trees on the rocks” was published in 1989 [3] . The hard and interesting work of the miners, the harmful effects of production, in this case, the mining industry, on the environment, is revealed in his stories. Many interesting images of our contemporaries are embodied in his works. In his lyrical stories, drivers, builders, drillers, businessmen, shepherds, officials, athletes, simple arats with their earthly affairs. One of the most striking works was the story “Samdar-Kozhai”, published in 2005, and translated into Russian by Igor Printsev in 2012 (the magazine “ Siberian Lights” No. 12, entitled “The Rich Man in Rags”). In the story, the conflict between the hero and society received a multilateral disclosure, gaining sharpness and socio-political sound. State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "St. Petersburg" in 2014—2015 showed stories about the story "Samdar-Kozhai" his stories go to Russian spaces. The story “Field of Miracles” was published in the magazine “Friendship of Peoples” (Moscow , No. 10, 2006). A selection of short stories “Under the constellation Pleiades” was published in “Siberian Lights” ( Novosibirsk , No. 9, 2007).

For the first time in Tuvan literature, M. B. Khovalyg created an adventure genre. His books on his high-altitude expeditions are published: “The Mysterious Pamir” in Russian in 2007, “Tuvans on the peaks of the world” in 2009, “On the peaks of Alaska, Australia and Europe” in 2013 on Tuvinian, “5 highest peaks 5 continents ”in 2015 in Russian. In these books he gives new knowledge about geography, about the peoples of different countries and continents [3] . For the publication “5 highest peaks of 5 continents” he becomes a laureate of the national competition for the best book on mountain, extreme and adventure sports of the XVIII Moscow International Festival of Mountain and Adventure Films “Vertical” in April 2015.

He is the author of 25 books of prose and journalism, and one translation - “Keys to wealth” by Napoleon Hill . Ready to publish manuscripts of books about travels in Tibet , Nepal [3] .

He is a bibliographer. A special merit of the writer is the compilations “Tuva of the Republican Chogaalchylary”, “Tyvaany Chogaalchylary - Writers of Tuva”, which includes 123 articles, compiled by him, has published a reference book “People. Data. Events ”to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the TNR. Climber. Veteran of Tuvan tourism. He was elected as a deputy of the Ak-Dovurak city council.
