Initial Biography
Mikhail Stepanovich Posyakin was born on November 27, 1899 in the village of Nikitino, now in the Pochinkovsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Military Service
Civil War
In July 1919, he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army and sent by the Red Army to the 607th Rifle Regiment, after which he took part in hostilities against troops under the command of generals K.K. Mamontov and A.G. Shkuro , and since August of that year As part of the 306th Infantry Regiment ( 34th Infantry Division ), he participated in military operations against the Kuban Army under the command of General N. A. Morozov , as well as armed forces under the command of General P. P. Fostikov in the Kuban and the North Caucasus .
In September 1922, Posyakin, as part of the 13th Baku infantry courses of the command staff, fought against the Cholokaev armed forces on the Southeast Front .
Interwar
After completing the Tiflis infantry courses of the command staff in August 1925, he was sent to the Leningrad Military District , where he served as platoon commander of the 32nd Infantry Regiment ( 11th Infantry Division ), platoon commander and weapons manager of a separate machine-gun company of the okrug, weapons manager and commander companies of the 15th machine gun battalion.

World War II
With the outbreak of war, Posyakin was in his former position. The division conducted heavy defensive military operations in the areas of the cities of Grodno , Lida and Novogrudok .
Since August 1941 he was appointed to the post of deputy chief of staff of the 3rd Army , which took part in the Smolensk battle , and in September he was appointed to the post of chief of the operational department of staff of the 21st army , which participated in the hostilities in the Kiev defensive operation .
After completing the crash course of the K.E. Voroshilov Higher Military Academy in April 1942 he was appointed to the post of chief of staff of the 8th Guards Rifle Corps , and in January 1943 - to the post of chief of staff of the 9th Guards Rifle Corps . From February 4 to 11, 1944, he served as the commander of the same corps, which was conducting military operations on the Mozyr fortified area on the Ptich River . Soon the corps took part in the course of the Belorussian , Riga , Warsaw-Poznan , East Pomeranian and Berlin offensive operations . For exemplary performance of combat missions of the command, Posyakin was awarded the orders of Suvorov of the 2nd degree and World War 1 of the 1st degree.
Post-War Career
After the war ended, Major General Posyakin was at the disposal of the Military Council of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany and the Main Directorate of Personnel of NCOs and in October 1945 was appointed to the post of head of the Directorate of Military and Physical Training of the Headquarters of the Baltic Military District , and in January 1946 - to Head of the 1st Division of the Organizational-Staff Directorate of the Main Staff of the Ground Forces.
From April 1950 he was at the disposal of the Main Directorate of Personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR and from August of the same year he served as head of the Directorate of Combat Training of the Main Automotive Department of the Ministry of Defense, then was again at the disposal of the Main Directorate of Personnel. In June 1952, he was appointed assistant commander for the combat units of the Northern Fleet Air Force.
Major General Mikhail Stepanovich Posyakin left the reserve in April 1953 . He died on January 14, 1981 in Moscow .
