General Description
Mangetti National Park is located in the eastern part of Kalahari , about 100 km south-west of the city of Rundu , previously this area was considered as a breeding ground for rare and endangered species. The natural conditions of the area are the flat landscape in the northwest, and to the southeast the main form of relief is ancient dunes. The land was originally set aside for environmental purposes by the Ukwangali Community Governance Authority. Mangetti belongs to a new generation of parks aimed at reducing rural poverty through the development of tourism, joint management and use of its benefits for the benefit of local communities. This is one of the new national parks of Namibia, which has already become a tourist attraction in the north-east of the country, while protecting wildlife. It also brought tangible socio-economic benefits to local communities. The territory was declared protected in 2008 [1] .
