The Eraliev case is a case initiated in November 1928 against senior employees and ordinary workers of the Adaevsky District .
The political and administrative measures of the Soviet government in the 1920s caused discontent among the population of the Mangystau Territory. It was decided to initiate a criminal case against those dismissed from office under various pretexts, the chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the former Adayevsky District Tobanyaz Alniyazov and others, accusing them of opposing the Soviet government. Such an opportunity appeared only in connection with the disappearance from the ship during a business trip on November 2, 1928, of the deputy chairman of the district executive committee Shabden Eraliev.
In this case, initiated under paragraph 2 of Article 58 of the Criminal Code and entitled “On the counter-revolutionary organization of beys, merchants, former employees of the tsarist government and Soviet employees of the former Adaevsky District”, 70 people were arrested on October 9, 1930 by a resolution of the three OGPUs (9 people died in prison during the investigation).
Among those brought to justice were T. Alniyazov, S. Zhubaev, B. Kilybaev, O. Kubeev, K. Kozhykov, local senior officials - Sh. Senbaev, K. Kulsharov, 11 communists. The "Eraliev Case", however, could not stop the discontent of the people in Mangystau .
This case grew into the Adaev uprising , connected with violent collectivization and the threat of famine of 1931-1932. On March 8, 1958, the military collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR established the groundlessness of the medical report on the violent death of S. Eralisva, whose body was discovered at sea a year after the disappearance, and proved that there was no corpus delicti in the actions of the convicts. The case against those shot by T. Alniyazov, S. Zhubaev and others was dismissed; they were rehabilitated by decisions of the Supreme Court of the Kazakh SSR on 8.2.2.1962 and 26.4.1990.
