Herald is an Estonian heavy metal band founded in 2000 by Egert Vandel and Mart Veski. Together with drummer Raano Rajalaan, the trio took part in the tribute of Judas Priest . In 2001 , Mart Calvert joined the group, after which the group began performing live.

In 2002 , the band began recording a demo called Heavy Metal Wakes the Beast at MetalWorks and released it in 2003 .
In 2005 , a contract was signed with the label Area Death Productions and a full-fledged debut album of the group was released.
The release of the new Heavy Metal rules EP was dedicated to a performance at the 2006 Hard Rock Laager festival , which featured bands such as Tiamat and Satyricon along with Herald.
After three years of calm, the band performed at the 2009 Hard Rock Laager festival with an updated line-up. Vocalist Mart Kalvet and bassist Marvin left the band. In their place came Sven Warkel and Ott Horace.
In 2010 , the band released its second full-length album - Gaia .
The third album, called Masin , was released by musicians in July 2015. For this album, the group won 2016 in the category "Metal Album of the Year" [1] [2] .
