Shamraevo

Shamraevo is a village in the Blagoveshchensk district of the Kirovograd region . According to legend, the village was founded by the Cossack Shamray in the late 16th century. However, for more than 100 years, Shamraevo remained a small farm, and only at the beginning of the 18th century began to actively grow. And already in 1836, Schubert marked him on the map as a village in 70 yards. After the reforms of Stolypin, several villages were formed around the village, which, after the advent of Soviet power, completely disappeared after several decades.

Location

The village was once located at a distance of 5 kilometers from the Blagoveshchenskoye district center, but in the 1970s. almost merged with him. In Shamraev, however, in comparison with Blagoveshchensky itself, personal estates predominate, rather than a densely built-up private sector with low buildings, as in Blagoveshchensky itself.

Population

The population, which peaked in the 1970s , is currently declining due to high natural decline. according to the 2001 census, it was 1913 people.

Economy

In the past, the majority of the population was engaged in the agriculture of the local collective farm on the cultivation of wheat, sugar beets, cattle (cows, pigs), poultry, and also worked in the district center itself. The collective farm continued to exist, with some periods of recovery, until the beginning of the XXI century, but gradually went bankrupt. Since the late 1980s the economy and employment are in deep crisis.
