Biography
Born in the village of Malo-Cheremshanka, Kolyvansky District, Novosibirsk Region.
He graduated from junior high school in the village of Vyuny (Kolyvan district).
In 1935, Porotnikov moved to Novosibirsk, where he worked in the “Artist” partnership.
In 1939-1941 he studied at the Omsk Art Pedagogical College.
He was called up to the Red Army in 1942, graduated from the Lepel Military School in Barnaul , and was promoted to lieutenant of a fire platoon. In 1943 he participated in hostilities on the 1st Belorussian front near Belgorod , in 1944 he took part in the battle of Covel. He is given the rank of senior lieutenant and is appointed commander of a regiment command platoon. He was wounded, but two months later he returned to the regiment, in which Prorotnikov participated in the liberation of Warsaw. In 1945 he was appointed commander of the battery, after which he took part in the attack on Berlin. In 1946 he was demobilized.
In 1948-1951 he studied at the Kostroma Art School (teachers - M. P. Schlein, M. S. Kolesov).
In 1951, the artist got a job in the workshops of the Art Fund.
From 1956 to 1966 he lived and worked in the village of Vyuny in the Kolyvansky district.
Since 1966, the artist once again moved to Novosibirsk.
Social activities
Pavel Porotnikov created a museum in Kolyvan.

Pavel Porotnikov was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Battle Banner, World War 2 nd degree and medals "For the Liberation of Warsaw", "For the Capture of Berlin", "For Victory over Germany", etc. [1] [2] .
