Alauksta Street (Riga)

Alauksta street ( Latvian: Alauksta iela ) - a street in the Latgale suburb of the city ​​of Riga , in Grisinkalns . It starts from Alexander Chuck Street , ends at the intersection of Pernavas Street with Ata and Varna streets, near the Grisinkalns Park . In the middle part it intersects with Zvaigžnu street . It does not intersect with other streets.

History

The street was formed in the first half of the 1870s. On city maps for the first time shown in 1876 under the name Augustinskaya street ( Latvian. Augustīnes (Augustes) iela ) [2] . It has been given its modern name since 1961 [3] - in honor of Lake Alauksts .

Notable Buildings

  • House 4 was built in 1902 according to the project of engineer E. von Trompovsky.
  • House 7 was built in 1907 according to the project of architect A. Vanags.
  • House 21 was built in 1911 according to the project of architect M. A. Nuksha [4] .
