Biography
Yahya III succeeded his grandfather Abu Umar Usman in 1488 (his father died before his grandfather). By this time, the state was in anarchy, local rulers rebelled in the province, and the new caliph showed intransigence and even cruelty in the destruction of the rebels and all whom he considered suspicious. However, a few months later he himself was killed by his own cousin Abd al-Mumin ibn Ibrahim ( 1489 ).
