In 2004 he became the champion of Oceania among juniors. With the result of 302.5 kg, he took the 8th place at the Summer Olympic Games of 2004 in the category up to 69 kg (135 kg in the snatch, 167.5 kg in the push). Peter was also the standard-bearer of the Nauru delegation at the opening ceremony of the Games.

At the 2005 World Championships , he won a silver medal in the snatch in the category up to 77 kg. In 2008 he became the champion of the Commonwealth in the same weight category.
