Marek Konwa ( Polish: Marek Konwa ; born March 11, 1990 , Zielona Gora ) is a Polish cyclist , specialist in cyclocross and cross-country . He has been performing at the adult international level since 2009, multiple champion of Poland, winner and medalist of international races, participant in the Summer Olympic Games in London and the European Games in Baku .

Biography

Marek Conwa was born on March 11, 1990 in the town of Zielona Gora of the Lubusz Voivodeship .

He first made his name in the 2006/07 season, when he became the champion of Poland among juniors in cyclo-cross and took ninth place in the junior world championship.

The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 2009/10 season, when he joined the main team of the Polish national team and attended the World Cyclocross Championship in the Czech Republic, from where he brought the bronze award. In the 2010/2011 season, he first won the Polish Cyclocross Championships in Poland and subsequently held the title for many years.

At the same time, he regularly performed in cross-country, in particular, became the fifth at the World Championships in Australia, showed the sixth result at the world championship in Canada. In 2011, he made his debut at the Mountain Bike World Cup and took fifth place in the overall standings, received a silver medal at the world championship in the age category under 23 years old.

Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London - he started here in the men's cross-country competition and is located on the 16th line in the final protocol of the competition [1] .

After the London Olympics, he remained in the main cycling team of Poland and continued to take part in major international races. So, in 2014 he won a silver medal at the University World Cycling Championship in Belgium, took 16th place in the overall standings of the Mountain Bike World Cup .

In 2015, he represented Poland at the first European Games in Baku - as a result, he took 12th place in the cross-country race .
