Feature

The flora of the bay represents a wide variety of grasses and shrubs; oak prevails among the trees. A small hill covered with forest rises above the bay, and at the top there is a defensive fortification of the 30s of the nineteenth century.

A small beach, covered with sand mixed with stones in the summer, is always popular with townspeople despite signs prohibiting swimming.

Near Patroclus Bay there is a freshwater Bezymyannoe Lake.

Patroclus Bay is often shrouded in fogs, in the summer the fog disperses for only a few hours, and then again wraps the earth.

History

In the early 1930s, on the orders of the People's Commissar of Defense K.E. Voroshilov, the 55th squadron, on MBR-4 seaplanes, relocated from Sevastopol to the Vladivostok region and became part of the Far East Naval Air Force (air force of the Far East) and then ashore Patroclus Bay arose a hydroaerodrome [1] .

In 2007, in preparation for the APEC Summit 2012, it was planned to build an aquarium here, but, in the end, it was decided to move it to Russky Island.

Infrastructure

The water area and the shores of Patroclus Bay belong to the Pervomaisky district .

On the shores of Patroclus Bay, there are residential buildings of Basargin Street, a walking zone “Leopard Embankment”.

The main city streets in the surrounding microdistricts are ul. Basargina and Sochi, as well as not built up, but mapped Novorossiysk, Arkhangelsk and Severomorsk [2] .

On the shore of the bay are the ruins of a hydroaerodrome [3] .
