• September 6 - the Novokhokhlovskaya railway station was opened ( Kursk direction of the Moscow Railway ).
• October 1 - the opening of the portable platform of the Leningradskaya railway ( Riga direction of the Moscow Railway ).
• December 25 - the Upper Kotly railway station was opened ( Paveletsky railway line).

In the world

• On January 25, at about 7 am local time, in the province of Milan, a passenger train derailed. At least 4 people were killed, about 100 passengers were injured, at least 10 of them are in serious condition ^[1] .
• On June 17, six passenger cars of a passenger train went off the rails in Kazakhstan. At least 1 person was killed and three passengers were injured ^[2] .
