Initial Biography
Vasily Yakovlevich Mazurin was born on January 14, 1900 in the village of Dolgoe Pole, now Spassky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Military Service
Civil War
In February 1920, he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army and sent to study at the 24th Nizhny Novgorod command staff, after which in March 1921 he was appointed to the position of platoon commander in these courses.
Interwar
In June 1921, he was appointed platoon commander, first at the 95th Ufa infantry courses, subsequently transformed into the 12th Ufa infantry courses, and then to similar positions in the Bashkir military enlistment office and the 97th Ufa infantry regiment. In November 1923 he was sent to study at Smolensk re-training courses of the command staff, after which in June 1924 he was again appointed to the post of platoon commander in the 97th Rifle Regiment, and in October 1926 he was transferred to the 87th Rifle Regiment, where served as platoon commander and assistant company commander, and in December 1927 he was appointed assistant company commander of the 99th Rifle Regiment.
In November 1929 he was sent to study for refresher courses at the Office of the NKVD and the RVS of the USSR at the MV Frunze Military Academy , after which in April 1930 he was appointed head of the 5th division headquarters of the 5th Infantry Division ( Belarusian military district ).
In October of the same year he was sent to study for advanced training courses for commanding officers at the 8th Division of the Headquarters of the Red Army , after which in August 1931 he was appointed to the post of Chief of the 5th Division of the Headquarters of the 7th Rifle Division , and in May 1934 He was sent to the 15th Rifle Corps ( Ukrainian Military District ), stationed in Chernigov , where he served as chief of the 3rd and 6th units, chief of the 4th headquarters division.

World War II
With the outbreak of the war, Mazurin was in his former position.
In July 1941, he was appointed assistant chief of the operational department of the headquarters of the 9th Army , then - senior assistant chief of the combat training department and head of the combat training department of the army headquarters. He took part in defensive hostilities in Moldova , and then on the Dniester , Southern Bug rivers in the Nikolaev area, the Dnieper in its lower reaches, as well as in the Donbass defensive , Rostov defensive and offensive operations .

In April 1944, Mazurin was appointed to the post of chief of staff of the 47th Rifle Corps . The corps was engaged in combat training, and also conducted private operations to eliminate Bandera . During the hostilities Mazurin did not cope with his duties and was removed from his post, after which he was appointed deputy commander of the 24th Infantry Division .
Since November 1944, it was at the disposal of the Main Directorate of Personnel of NCOs in the reserve at the K.E. Voroshilov Higher Military Academy .
Post-War Career
After the war, Colonel Mazurin was sent to study at an accelerated course at the Higher Military Academy named after K.E.
