Creation of the National Museum
The People's Museum “Old Uralsk” was created in 2003 at the initiative of the museum’s trustee Natalya Akimovna Sladkova (02/14/1950, Uralsk- 09/04/2014, Uralsk ) [1] [2] [3] . The beginning of the history of the museum was the local history exhibition "Old Uralsk", which opened on January 17, 2003 in the premises of the Optima bookstore. Her exposition presented items from the personal collections of a number of local historians and local historians who tell about the history of Uralsk, as well as paintings by the famous Ural artist Nikolai Mikushkin. Originally designed for 10 days, the exhibition aroused so much public interest that it was repeatedly extended. As a result, a permanent museum exposition [4] [5] was formed on its base, which was located in the annex to the building of the 1910 bank built [6] .
The museum staff consisted of local historians, local historians and writers, representatives of the urban community and the business community of Uralsk : A. Kurlapov, I.
