Content
History
The village of Peschanka was part of the possessions of the princes of Ukhtomsky [2] . In the "List of populated areas of the Saratov province according to the data of 1859," the settlement is mentioned as the owner's village of Peschanka, Saratov district (1st camp) at the Kolyshlee river, located 64 miles from the provincial city of Saratov . The village had 128 households and 988 inhabitants (487 men and 501 women). There were two mills and a plant [3] .
According to the "List of Populated Places of the Saratov Uyezd" of the 1914 edition (according to 1911), there were 187 households and 1268 people (625 men and 643 women) living in the village of Peschanka, belonging to the Ozyorskaya volost. Great Russians dominated the national composition of the population. The zemstvo school functioned [4] .
Geography
The village is located in the northwestern part of the region, within the Volga Upland , on the left bank of the Peschanka River (a tributary of the Small Kolyshly River ), at a distance of about 28 kilometers (in a straight line) east-northeast (ENE) from the city of Atkarsk . The absolute height is 227 meters above sea level [5] .
