Kubalach (mountain)

Kubalach ( Ukrainian. Kubalach , Crimean Tat. Qubalaç, Kubalach ) - a mountain in the eastern part of the inner ridge of the Crimean Mountains (Kubalach ridge, western peak Burunduk-Kaya eastern Kizil-Tash ), in the area with. Topolevki (formerly Topli).

The inner ridge stretches from Sevastopol to Feodosiya and in this place reaches the greatest height - more than 700 m above sea level. Mount Kubalach has a height of 738 m and is the highest point of the 2nd ridge. The wide glade on the top of the mountain is a good place to explore the surrounding mountains. The whole massif is overgrown with forest and is a real oasis in this region, where in the north of the Feodosiya highway lie the steppe regions of the Crimean foothills. The nature of the relief is associated with excessive precipitation , which creates conditions for the development of deciduous forests.

Mount Kubalach is the only place not only in the Crimea , but also all over the world where a rare endemic grows in its natural state, is listed in the Red Book of Russia - the cyclamen Kuznetsov . Named cyclamen in honor of the famous botanist , characterized by a high decorative, grace, beautiful fragrant pink flowers. In addition to cyclamen, other rare plants grow here.

The array is interesting from a geological point of view.

"The Topolev fault, like other fractures, is a multimeter zone of fractured and crushed rocks, which has a strong influence on the movement of groundwater. They are pulled into a rift, pass along a rather large path and come to the surface in the form of sources. It is precisely with the Topolevi fault that a powerful source of tasty water is located near the bus stop. [one]"
