Superfinal of the Russian Chess Championship 2017

The 70th Russian Chess Championship is a competition that took place in 2017 . The Russian chess champion was determined during the super final, which was held in St. Petersburg from December 2 to 15, 2017. The champion for the 8th time was Peter Svidler . The tournament venue was the Museum of the Political History of Russia of St. Petersburg .

The total prize fund amounted to 6 million 300 thousand Russian rubles .

The chief judge of the competition is the international referee Igor Bolotinsky .

Rules

  • Competitions are held in a circular system of 11 rounds.
  • Time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 30 minutes until the end of the game with the addition of 30 seconds for each move, starting from the 1st, to each participant.
  • Allowable lateness for the tour is 15 minutes. A player who appears at the board after the start of the clock, but before the elapsed time, is punished with a fine of 10,000 rubles.
  • Compulsory cheating control in compliance with the anti-cheating rules approved by FIDE , with an increased level of protection.
  • Participants (participants) are prohibited from entering into negotiations about a draw during the game until the 40th move inclusive.
  • Seats are allocated according to the number of points scored. In the case of an equal number of points, places are allocated to additional indicators (in decreasing order of importance), with the exception of the division of I place:
    • the number of games played by black pieces (unplayed games are counted as “played” by white pieces);
    • Berger coefficient ;
    • number of victories;
    • the result of a personal meeting;
    • Koya system .
  • When dividing the 1st place, the players applying for it play rapid chess games with each other with the following time control: 15 minutes + 10 seconds for each participant. [2]
